Yvonne has worked in international development for over 12 years’, providing project management support to senior executives in multinational development organisations such as United Nations and Practical Action in East Africa; and fundraising for a grant making charity in the UK. She brings her skills and experience in identifying potential funders and nurturing corporate relationships with the aim of generating new sponsorships to support IWI’s programmes in creating awareness of, and providing education on violation of women’s rights all over the world on issues such as maternal mortality. She strongly believes that women and girls should experience lives that are free from discrimination and deprivation.

Poonam is a Physics graduate from UCL, she has just returned from spending six months teaching English in China. During her free time, she enjoys travelling and learning new languages. Poonam is passionate about helping to eradicate poverty and challenging all forms of inequality and injustice, she has a greater devotion to empowering women. Poonam believes in the resilience of all women and the power of positive change that comes from when women unite together. Poonam hopes to see a future where every woman is able to assert her human rights without fear and fulfil her potential so that one day women are collectively able to, as the ancient Chinese proverb declares, “hold up half the sky”.
Joanna’s professional and volunteer experience spans three continents. At the core of each project she pursues is working towards securing equal opportunities and fair treatment for all people regardless of gender, socioeconomic background, and religious affiliation. Before joining the IWI team, Joanna worked in the fundraising department for Chicago regional office of the Anti-Defamation League. She currently serves as the Secretary and Board Member for the India Development Service, an NGO that works with grassroots organisations in India to implement sustainable development projects throughout the country. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University and a Master of Arts in International Development from the University of Kent Brussels School of International Studies.
