The Equal Pay Act of 1963 was created with the aim of abolishing wage disparity based on sex. It was followed by the creation of the Civil Rights Act 1964 (“the Act”), introduced to prohibit employment discrimination based on sex, colour, race, religion, and national origin. However, since the Act was introduced, no review has been done to establish the efficacy of the current Act, and whether laws have been created to ensure equal treatment between men and women.
